Ennio Morricone - "One's upon a Time in the West"

Morricone album cover
Ennio picture

Long before homo marriages had been made possible, there was this great male western movie director marrying this great male music composer. One was called Sergio Leone and the other was called Ennio Morricone. And this says about all. For the rest there is little to tell about this album but so much more to listen. Both film and music deconstruct the typical western approach to lift the genre to a higher level. There are guitar fuzz and haunting echo accompanying the most simple cowboy whistle tunes. Imagine watching some rodeo event on a Texas prairie while My Bloody Valentine is playing a gig. An incomparably courageous and tempting music effort.
